You may know David Walliams the hilarious comedian and actor, but did you know he is also a fantastic childrens author?

David Walliams wrote his first kids novel, The Boy in the Dress in 2008.  The book was a huge success, but he didn’t stop there, he’s brought out eight childrens titles in six years, each progressively funnier than the last.

His novel Mr Stink was published in 2009 and won the Lincolnshire Young People’s Book award and is currently being made into a stage musical.

In 2010 Billionaire Boy followed and has since won several awards including the Stockport Book Award and the Sheffield Children’s Book Prize.

His novel published in 2011, Gangsta Granny became one of the bestselling children’s books of the year!

He’s been dubbed the next Roald Dahl by many critics because of his humourous way of storytelling , unique characters and his collaboration with Quentin Blake. Quentin Blake, who is best known for illustrating Roald Dahls body of work, brought David Walliams first two novels to life with his imaginative illlustrations.

He has also collaborated with Tony Ross, best known for his colourful illustrations of the much loved Horrid Henry series.

His much anticipated new novel coming out this month, Awful Auntie, is jam packed with humor and eccentric characters! We can’t wait to get our hands on it, can you?
